AldoApps permits you to download, install and use Companion with XPPanelsVR for personal entertainment. This is permission to use the app, not an open-source licence or a transfer of ownership. Separately licensed components retain their own permissions. The simulator, aircraft and headset app are separate products.
The official 2.0 (3) and retained 0.1.2 Mac installers are Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple. Their notarization tickets are attached and Gatekeeper verification has passed. Package-specific bundled terms and qualification notices remain applicable, including the 2.0 (3) preview terms for personal entertainment/testing. The Vision Pro app has its own App Store review; the Mac Companion is distributed directly by AldoApps. These are distinct distribution checks, not guarantees of security, suitability or compatibility with every configuration. Keep macOS security enabled and contact support if an unexpected security warning appears.
For entertainment only. Companion is not certified for training, flight planning, real aviation or safety-critical use. Apple's standard App Store EULA does not automatically license this directly distributed Mac application; the permission above applies to Companion.
Only use simulator/aircraft content you are authorized to use and share. The package supplies no X-Plane licence, ToLiss aircraft, aircraft data, simulator SDK, or third-party paid software. Compatibility does not imply affiliation, endorsement, permission to redistribute third-party works or exemption from their licences. Never bypass aircraft pop-out restrictions.
The Windows download is self-signed and is not automatically trusted by Windows; Mac notarization does not apply to it. Its bundled Preview-Terms.txt and separate component licences apply. The installer changes only its own per-user application files and registration. Simulator plugin installation requires a separate explicit action with X-Plane closed; settings and rollback backups are retained.
Windows capture shares selected simulator/instrument windows and, when requested by a compatible receiver, audio. ISCS sharing and mouse injection require explicit consent and foreground/source/freshness guards. Experimental foveated streaming is separate and opt-in, uses application-private NVIDIA runtime components under their included NVIDIA terms, and does not install an audio driver or change global OpenXR selection. Its audio/microphone streaming is disabled. Preserve pairing tokens and review third-party runtime logs before sharing them. See the Windows guide and bundled dependency/licence notices. Third-party component terms retain their own rights; AldoApps' preview permission does not replace them.
ScreenCaptureKit captures recognized simulator windows after permission and Start Sharing. Outside video is separately enabled. Local popup-position telemetry identifies instruments. Approved LAN clients can receive these images. The optional local preview captures the selected whole display. Version 2.0 (3) optionally shares X-Plane application audio with one approved client; it stops when disabled or disconnected. No microphone is captured and audio is not saved. The retained 0.1.2 package does not provide audio streaming.
Optional Vision Pro ISCS sharing/input lets an approved headset view the selected simulator window and send clicks using Accessibility. Permission is off by default and session-only. Clicks move the real desktop pointer. Image tickets expire after 1.5 seconds, are single-use and address-bound; source-window and uncovered-target checks apply. Stop Sharing revokes access. These controls are not encrypted or cryptographically authenticated pairing.
Open Missing Displays sends the supported aircraft's instrument-popup commands locally when you request it. Optional Accessibility permission allows sizing and moving identified simulator instrument windows to your selected Mac display, including checked native-title-bar and resize-corner mouse drags when X-Plane does not expose movable accessibility windows. It is not required for capture, the preview or popup opening. The app does not record keystrokes or use Accessibility to inspect other applications. You may revoke this permission in macOS Privacy settings.
Companion is designed for a direct connection between your Mac and headset on a trusted private network. Your simulator stream is not routed through an AldoApps cloud service. Sharing starts off; you start it and approve video viewers for each session. Stopping sharing revokes those approvals.
The current HTTP video and UDP simulator protocols do not provide transport encryption. Use a network whose devices and access you trust, protect Wi-Fi with a strong password, and do not forward these ports to the internet. Private-network use limits exposure but does not remove all security risks. Address approval is not cryptographic authentication, and it does not protect the simulator's command ports. Public, hotel and other shared networks are not suitable for this setup.
Settings, plugin receipts and recovery backups stay on the Mac. Bridge logs remain in the user's Library/Logs directory and can contain window titles, IDs and technical errors. The diagnostic report is saved only where you choose; review it before emailing support. No analytics, advertising, automatic diagnostic upload or publisher account is included.
Delete the application to stop using it; use Settings to unregister login startup and remove the plugin first. Saved settings, logs and backups may remain until you delete them. Emailing support sends your message and attachments to the support mailbox provider; do not include sensitive data unnecessarily.
Resolution and refresh targets are not performance guarantees. Screen Recording approval must be granted by you. Virtual displays rely on private macOS functionality and may stop working after OS changes. Use physical displays as the fallback. Installer backup features do not replace your own backups. Do not install or change monitor layout during a flight.
Third-party open-source components retain their own licences and notices. Nothing in these terms restricts rights granted by those licences or mandatory consumer law. For setup, compatibility or installation assistance, contact aldoapps@gmail.com.
